Eight Month Update!!!!!

Happy EIGHT months sweet girl!!!!

This month had to have been one of my favorites! You are soo mobile, expressive and happy. You are aware of everything around you and just want to explore it all. You are happy and smiley pretty much all of the time except when it's getting close to nap or bedtime. Then you won't let me put you down!!!

Our schedule is pretty much the same as the past couple of months. Nap times have gotten wayy easier and you have no problem sleeping an hour and a half or longer for both naps. The late afternoon nap sometimes happens and sometimes doesn't. If it doesn't happen we push your bedtime up about 30 minutes and it works out fine.

You tried squash for the first time and liked it ok. You like it a lot better when I add bananas! In the morning you usually have bananas or applesauce. Then the other two meals vary depending on what I have made.

For some reason you have started HATING bathtime! You used to love it. I have no idea what happened. Your tub might be getting too small or something. I really don't know!

You have slept through the night soo many times this month!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's not every night yet, but we are getting there. When you wake up I can see you grab your Paci, put it back in and rub your face with your bunny on the monitor. It's so cute and you fall right back asleep without me having to go in!

I think your sleeping hasn't been consistent because you have started teething. This teething stuff is no joke. On Easter you had a runny nose, cough and fever all because of teething. It's insane. I got you one of those Amber Necklaces and it has really helped. We haven't really had a bad night since you have been wearing it. Your front right tooth on the bottom has broken through the skin but isn't all the way in yet. The one right beside it will be coming up soon too.

I went to target and Kangaroo Pouch and bought pretty much every teething thing they had!!! I feel so bad for you. I know it hurts so much! And these are only your first two... We have many more to go!

We have had such a fun month between cousin Sandra visiting, your dedication, Easter and Aunt Sis' birthday!!! It has been a busy month and I have loved every minute of it.

I almost forgot! You started saying MA MA!!! I wanted you to say da da first but that's ok! You really only say it when your mad... But you will reach both hands in the air and shout MA MA over and over again! It's pretty cute.

I love you so much sweet girl and am so proud of the little girl you are turning into. You aren't afraid of strangers (is that bad???) and smile at EVERYONE! I can't wait to see what next month holds. I love you with all of my heart baby girl.

Happy Birthday Aunt Sis!

Yesterday, Aunt Sis turned 24!!!!!

You took an epically (is that a word?) long nap in the morning so we didn't get to her house until around noon.
We had such a fun day just relaxing with her and having fun.

When it came time to open presents you jumped right in and began attacking all the wrapping paper! You would go up to a present and play with it so aunt sis would open that one next. You chose which presents she was going to open when!! It was so funny!

Unfortunately we had to get you home to bed so she brought me over some dinner and cake later!

We had such a fun day and I'm so glad because she really deserved it. She does so much for all of us and we are so thankful for her!!

Sawyer's Home!!!!!!!!!

Our sweet cat Sawyers has been missing for almost two weeks. The last time I saw him was when I was stuck in the bed with the stomach bug and he came and cuddled with me. We were so worried about him and talked about him all day yesterday.

Well this morning at about 10:00, we were playing in the sun room when Sawyer came busting through the doggy door. He was meowing soooo loud and jumped right up to his food and stayed there for a good five minutes. Poor buddy was soo hungry! I started screaming SAWYERS HOME!!!!! He was so happy to see us. He literally jumped up on my shoulder which he never does. We sat there and petted him for forever.
It didn't seem like he was hurt or anything but he was skinny and dirty. I feel so bad for him and just wonder where he had been.

We went out this afternoon and got him a nice new bed and he loves it!

We also took you for a ride on your new trike and he followed us meowing the whole way.

I really can't believe he came home. Daddy and I were both pretty worried about him!!!!!

Your First Easter!

Happy First Easter baby girl!!

You woke up this morning not feeling very well. You had a runny nose, cough and low fever. I feel so bad for you! Your first tooth is trying to come through so I'm pretty sure it's all related to teething.
Like daddy and aunt sis said, it's not enough that a tooth is erupting through your skin, you have all this other bad stuff on top of it!

You were soo tired this morning and fell
asleep easy and quick for your morning nap. I had plenty of time to get myself ready for church. I even had to (unfortunately) wake you up so we could get to church on time!!

We could all tell you weren't feeling good and you were such a trooper through church. I didn't want to put you in the nursery just yet and especially with you not feeling well.

Daddy was a trooper also. He got off work at 4 and we had to be at church at 9:45. Then go to nana and grandbuddys for basically the whole afternoon. He sacrifices so much for us.

You took a nice nap at nanas and woke up just in time for lunch! You still weren't feeling well so I held you in your sling for a little bit and I think that helped.

It finally came time to see what the Easter bunny brought you! You were so much more into your Easter basket than I thought you would be! You were pulling everything out and chewing on it. It was so funny and we were so surprised!! You loved everything and wanted to play immediately!

The Easter Bunny also brought you an awesome Red Ryder Tricycle! It's so neat because it grows with you from 9 months to 3 years!! The Easter Bunny told me how excited he was to give it to you and how he had been thinking about it for a while!! We strapped you in and ride you around the house and you really liked it! You were smiling and kicking your feet! If say the Easter bunny did a great job!!

After lunch we came home and you passed out for almost two hours. You were soo tired and not feeling well so you really needed a nice long nap. (Mommy did too!!)

We had such a great first Easter with you. I hate it that you didn't feel well and I hope this teething nonsense gives us a break soon!!

Easter is such a fun day to celebrate with our friends and family. I always want you to remember that Easter is truly about the  celebration of Jesus rising from the dead so he could save us all. He paid the ultimate sacrifice so we can live the amazing life we live. We should always be grateful to Him for this amazing act and for giving us all of the wonderful blessings that we have each day. It's easy to forget how blessed we are. I want you to always remember everything He has done for us and to thank him each day for saving us from our sins and rising from the dead so that we may have eternal life with him. He is the true reason we celebrate today.

I love you baby girl and im so proud of you.

Sleeping

Baby!! You have slept through the night TWICE without me doing anything! I'm so proud of you!!!!

I started trying to eliminate your first feeding a couple weeks ago. When you started crying I would get you out of the crib and rock you back to sleep but not feed you. It worked really well and after about three nights you dropped that wake up time all together.

When you woke up next at around 3,  I would feed you and put you back to sleep. One random night you dropped that nighttime feeding and slept all the way through!
Since I knew you were capable of sleeping the whole night without any problems, I've gotten better about waiting 5 minutes before going to tend to you. Some nights you cry for just a few minutes and then go back to sleep.
If 5 minutes has passed and I try to soothe you with no luck and it's around feeding time I assume you are hungry and go ahead and feed you.
You hardly ever wake up more than once a night which has helped mama out A TON!!!!

I have noticed you consistently waking up to start the day about 30-45 minutes earlier though. It's quite hard to get moving before the sun is up!!!!
I love you sweet girl and I'm soooo proud of you!!!

Your Dedication

Today was a very special day for you sweet girl. Today was your dedication day.

As baptists, we have a celebration called dedication where we welcome you to the world and dedicate ourselves and you to The Lord. We as your parents make a vow to raise you in a godly home and teach you about Christ. This is normally done at church with a couple other babies that are born around the same time. Unfortunately your dad had to work and some things were misunderstood for the church dedication. But Daniel, our cousin said he would come and dedicate you at home.

My side of the family is baptist but your dad grew up Catholic and his family still goes to the Catholic Church. They have a christening or baptism at your age instead of a dedication. It is a huge deal for Catholics and family and friends normally come to see it. To bring both sides together we decided to have a dedication but with a nice party like they would have done if you were baptised.
We had it at your Grammy and Granddads house and a lot of our family came to be a part and see you. It was such a fun, sweet day.
You wore the same dress your dad and aunt Caroline were baptized in.

You did really good throughout the dedication, except for the very end you got a little fussy but it's understandable!!
Daniel read from the a small bible that was his Grandfathers. We called him Uncle Geepie but Daniel called him Grandbuddy. That's why you call my dad Grandbuddy. He was sooo funny and always joking around. He used to pretend suck his thumb with me and he had a little handkerchief he made into a mouse and called meesy. He would make it run all the way up his arm and then catch it! He was such a wonderful man and he actually married my parents. And Daniel married us. Anyway, it was so nice of Daniel to ready from uncle geepies bible and make the whole dedication so much more personal.

After, we took a ton of pictures and got you back in your comfy Jammie's! Aunt Sis tried to get you to take a nap but you weren't having it. You wanted to party! So you came back down and played. Finally Fonda used her magic and once again got you right to sleep.

(That's justin making you soo comfy!)

Tonight you were soo tired that you started falling asleep in your bath! You have never done that before!

We had such a wonderful day celebrating you with our family. It was a perfect celebration of you and Christ's Love. I'm so thankful for the joy you have brought into my life and I love watching you grow into the most beautiful sweetest little girl. I love you with all of my heart and I praise God everyday for the amazing gift he has blessed your daddy and I with.
